The Red, White, and Blue!

After around 10 hours of driving, two gas stops, and two food breaks, we’ve made it to our halfway point near Angola, Indiana! The Comfort Inn we’re staying at-wow, you need to read some of them. Not horrible, but you need to read them LOL. Quite frankly, this has Jack McCarty’s handiwork written all over it!

At any rate, our trusty chase cars, three gorgeous minivans named Scarlet (right), Miller (center), and Broccoli (left), named after meteorology professors Dr. Mark Miller and Dr. Tony Broccoli, formed a patriotic caravan of red, white, and blue as we drove through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

We also slapped a nice Rutgers “R” magnet on the back of all three vans 1) for help identifying our vans (there are surprisingly a LOT of Chrysler Town & Countries and Dodge Caravans) and 2) to represent RU of course! Especially now we’re BIG 10, we had to make our presence known! It was also to let folks know we were Jersey drivers and to steer clear… It’s for their own good, honestly!

For lunch, we stopped at a Crackerbarrel in PA! My first time there, you can tell I was excited! And yes, the food was yummy!

Overall a smooth trip… Lots of bugs though. Our windshield is just smeared with insect guts and the gas station squeegee didn’t do us justice. Oh yeah, and Sherilyn Graham slammed the trunk door on my head. Literally, I was ducking to get out of the way, but nonetheless, WHAM! 😛 If I get brain trauma and forget everything, you all know why!

By the way, can’t remember if I mentioned it, but Sherilyn slammed the trunk door square on my head….
